Little Bang is an offshoot of
the band Bangalore, which
was started by guitarist Phil Kaplan and bassist Sven Larson.

Their decades-long love and
study of West African drumming and the Raga system of North India (Hindustan), became a major influence over their solid grounding in American blues, rock, jazz, and funk. During
the course of a decade they developed an original approach to the World Music genre.

Little Bang emerged as the
result of a collaboration with saxophonist/composer/artist David Sholl. A long time friend, Sholl joined forces with Kaplan and Larson and introduced a new voice and compositional dynamic to the foundation that Bangalore had created. An intense period of composing, rehearsing, and performing established a unique sound for the new group.
